The board does cost money to run. Not a huge amount - but the number of people clicking on ads on the main page or buying Tunes at the moment is still so small that I'm having to dip into my own pocket to keep the board running.

A number of users have been kind enough over the past couple of years to donate to the board and these total stars are the ones you see with their name in orange (unless they're mods, in which case they go green or purple or even pink). They also have five stars and "supporter" under their name plus they get to choose a title of their choice under their name. By default, this is "Friend of GT". At the moment you'll have to pm Sperge to get your custom title added, but hopefully we should be able to automate this soon. The new link does automate the rest of the process though.
There aren't any huge privileges as yet for being a supporter, other than the satisfaction of having "done your bit", but I'm open to suggestions on things we can offer to those who help the board.
We work on a "widow's mite" principle here, i.e. a small donation from someone who is skint is valued just as much as a larger donation from someone who is loaded. The link does have a minimum of £3 set (less than the price of a pint in many UK pubs these days), although you can pm Sperge if you can't manage £3. You can also pm if you'd rather pay by direct BACS transfer through your bank rather than sign up to Paypal (this is actually preferable as Paypal charges us a commission fee, it's just that the Paypal route is more convenient for many people).
