The Rebirth of Rave (St Acid interview!)

Saint Acid's monthly nights of neo-rave madness at the Electrowerkz, London.

The Rebirth of Rave (St Acid interview!)

Postby Sperge » 20 Apr 2008, 21:23

Rave generals stand by! Time to get reading up on some Bang Face history before the Weekender! :wackyhat:

GladTalk is publishing not just one, but two articles on Bang Face, giving the definitive history of Neo-Rave Armageddon.

The Rebirth of Rave Part One is more of an introductory piece to bring people up to speed on what BF actually is. Part Two is the full interview with Saint Acid himself, raw and unabridged.

Just applying the finishing touches now, links up shortly. :)

And here they are...

http://www.gladtalk.co.uk/bangface1.shtml (general article about Bang Face)

http://www.gladtalk.co.uk/bangface2.shtml (world exclusive interview with St Acid)

Enjoy. There's a few things in both articles that you probably didn't know before. Like the origins of the Hard Crew. :)

Just thought I'd flag up this little exchange:

Do you know it’s one of Tim Westwood’s catchphrases? “It’s gonna go bang in yer face!”

Yeah, it’s actually funny because someone I knew who works in radio, a couple of years ago, actually got Tim Westwood to do a Bang Face jingle, saying ‘Big up the Bang Face crew’ etc. I’ve got it on mp3 but it’s never been released (laughs).

We’ve got to hear it!

Yeah, I should upload it to the forum some time, shouldn’t I? Haha.

I think we should take James up on that one. Go on, you know you want to hear a Tim Westwood Bangface jingle. :wackyhat:

Excellent stuff Sperge/St. Acid, really enjoyed reading those two articles.
By the time you've read this message it's too late to stop reading it.

Good to see people liked it.

We've been promised an interview with Altern-8 coming up soon, plus there are some 'how-to' articles planned on music production etc soon.

The e-magazine side of things is an important part of the future direction of the site, so I'm glad the first major articles have gone down well. :)

Are you the one with the Bang Face tattoo then?

:notworthy:

You've just got to show it to St Acid's brother! :D

Thanks for the link Sperge, and it hits the nail on the head perfectly. It shouldn't be about techno, or jungle, or hardcore, or oldskool, gabber, breaks, or whatever. It's a "BIG TUNE" night!!! :wackyhat:
