WOMAD 2008

Postby Beatmonkey on 23 Jul 2008, 15:09

So I've just been sorted a crew ticket for this in exchange for helping a mate of a mate blow up some helium ballons, stewarding can suck my ass I don't even need a deposit or anything. The benefits of haveing a festival only 2 miles from your house eh?

So anyone else going to this? I think theres gonna be quite a lot of middle class hippys but should be a laugh anyway, nothing like as hardcore as glade though :(

Lee scratch perry, Roni Size Reprazent, TC, DJ Marky (hardly as exciting as the glade line-up hey) (oh and those arn't the headliners just the people I recognise) It's all world music and that sorta shizznizz

It's this weekend

And no I can't I took the last place on the ballon filling crew, 4ish hours filling helium ballons in exchange for a ticket, not bad, not bad at all. Took me some serious blagging to get myself in for free.

:haha: quite so. I'll put up with it though as my girlfriend and plenty of mates are going what with it being local and all. A festival is what you make of it, I'm sure it's not beyond me to liven it up a little ;-)

Full of hypocritical middle class middle aged middle of the road wankers, unless you get a free ticket avoid this festival.

Some of the music was pretty cool though.

I only phrased it that way cos of the poeticness of it. The entire festival seemed to have a genral air of smug self satisfyedness about it as if these middle management types needed to wear their hippy credentials on their (tie-dyed) sleves for a weekend before jumping back into their audi estates to cruise home to buy into whatever ethicly produced product they read about in the independants modern lifestyle section.

Aye, I'm a hypocrit myself, everyone is to a lesser or greater degree, I'm just so at home with my hypocriticalism that I feel able to complain about other people being hypocrits :)
